The Glastonbury Festival is situated in a small village in a rural area of East Somerset. Pilton, the host village,
is surrounded by country lanes and hamlets so when 178,000 people and nearly 50,000 cars, campervans and trailers descend
on the area it can become pretty busy!
This section of our website will cover various options and tips for travelling to and from the festival and in the days
leading up to and after the festival, there will be as much up-to-date traffic and travel information on the site as possible.
If possible, we would encourage you to travel to the festival using public transport – cutting down on the number of cars around
the Somerset villages and also reducing your carbon footprint!
For more information about the various methods of public transport go to the Glastonbury Festival website, which has a comprehensive Travel section.
You can sign-up to receive free traffic and travel updates on your mobile by texting "GLASTO" to 81003.
