It is estimated that there will be around 50,000 cars driven to the festival.
Car crime has decreased massively in the festival car parks in the last five years. However, this is no reason to be complacent and think 'it won't happen to me'.
Keep your car as safe when you park it in the Glastonbury car park as you would when you park it in a city centre car park.
The golden rule is – don't leave any property on display. Don't leave your old rucksack on the back seat or your coat on the passenger seat.
They might be worthless to you, but to a thief they could be hiding money or a mobile phone. Think – Remove it, Lock it, Keep it.
In 2005, a few cars were broken into because they had beer left on the back seat. Remember – what is not valuable to you, might be valuable to someone else.
To be safe – remove it. Plus – if we do get warm weather for once – you don't really want warm beer left in your car do you?
Make sure you lock your car, put your alarm on and any visible security device, like a steering wheel lock.
All this will make sure your car is safe and sound when you return to it on Monday morning and you can sit in traffic for six hours with everyone else trying to get out of the car park.
